Degroof Petercam Asset Management (DPAM) is pleased to announce that Antoine Ruotte, CFA has joined the portfolio management team of the Emerging Market Debt franchise, namely the sub-fund DPAM L Bonds Emerging Markets Sustainable.

Antoine Ruotte has been with Degroof Petercam Group since 2011 and has acquired previous experience as a portfolio manager and most recently as a Fixed Income buy-side Credit Analyst.

Peter De Coensel, CIO Fixed Income and Member of the Management Board of DPAM comments on the strenghtening of the team: “Thanks to the continuous growth of the strategy, which now has about 1.4bn EUR in assets under management, a reinforcement of the existing management team consisting of Carl Vermassen and Michael Vander Elst, proved necessary. Antoine will bring valuable analytical and management capabilities to the team. Emerging market debt is an exciting asset class that has become an essential building block of any fixed income portfolio.”

Tomás Murillo, Head of International Sales and Member of the Management Board of DPAM, contends: “The Emerging Market Debt franchise has now been around for five years and has been able to garner a lot of investor attention in that period. Thanks to its unique combination of a sustainability screening excluding non-democratic and authoritarian regimes as well as sound credit picking, the fund has been able to perform well, also YTD, in challenging market conditions. Thanks to Antoine’s arrival in the team, these capabilities will be further enhanced.”

The strong points of DPAM L Bonds Emerging Markets Sustainable:

  • Unique proprietary quantitative screeningmodel to assess the sustainability of emerging countries validated by an advisory board with external experts
  • The portfolio managers travel across the globeto find the most compelling investment countries
  • Active management in terms of country and currency allocation, security selection, duration and yield curve positioning

  • Degroof Petercam AM has a solid and long-term investment experience in emerging markets debt investments
  • DPAM has more than 10 years’ experience in the sustainability screening of countries
  • Pure government bond portfolio invested in local currency as well as hard currency emerging debt (the latter up to 30%)
  • Distinctive approach, also in frontier markets, compared to traditional non-SRI emerging markets debt funds
  • Highly diversified portfolio with an a-typical country and currency allocation
